RESIDENTIAL LOAN SPECIALIST

JOB SUMMARY:            

The primary geographical focus of this position is to cover originations with the Greater Hartford County/Farmington Valley area markets within the state of Connecticut. 
This position is a commission position, and its functions are to solicit new business and expand the business of current customers by selling the bank’s mortgage financing capability. It also develops relationships with attorneys, developers and real estate brokers to generate new mortgage business.  Works closely with Retail and Commercial Lending to generate leads and cross sell products. Originates residential loans in conformance with all policies and procedures.    
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides convenient interviewer services for residential mortgage applicants, including off-site and after hour interviews;
Develops and implements business calling programs to generate mortgage business and meets sales goals. Develops relationships with diverse members of the community to promote FB’s residential lending products. Develops realtor relationships and provides them with current information regarding loan products and pricing. 
Responds and resolves customer requests and issues, and participates in obtaining required documents from applicants. Informs customers/applicants of processing, underwriting and closing procedures post application; provides estimates of closing costs and required disclosure information.
Maintains knowledge of internal, regulatory and secondary market guidelines.
Job performance is primarily measured in generating loan production and providing quality service; time reflects an overall perception of how duties should be exercised to achieve this goal.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent with 3-5 years experience in Residential Lending. Strong knowledge of residential loan policies and related products and services; strong math aptitude; must have PC, Internet and Microsoft Office skills.  Must have residential lending experience within the Greater Hartford County/Farmington Valley area markets. 
INITIATIVE:
Position works very independently, consulting with manager on specific matters only.   
INTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires excellent interpersonal skills to solicit cooperation among departments and to establish a strong rapport and influence with people who may be able to generate leads for business. Handles confidential data on the individual served.
